Hey there! Before I talk about doing good, I just want to give a shout out to my Grandma! It's her birthday today! Happy birthday, Grandma!
Anyway, this week's do gooder (is that a word???) act is more of a Earth-good thing instead of a people-good thing-- here it is: go plant a seed and take care of it. You can get a packet of seeds from the store for around 50 cents to $1.50 or you could take one of those helicopter seeds that are blowing around right now. You could even take a seed out of the middle of an apple.
Don't have a pot? Cut the rows of an egg carton apart and use each little section as a pot. You can cut individual ones off, go by rows or just cut the top off! It works great, and it's recycling. I think egg cartons are biodegradable too. Hold on, lemme check. Yep, they are! So, when the plants get too big for the egg carton, cut the bottom of it off and stick it in the dirt! Quick, easy and almost really clean. Try it!
Just make sure that you get seeds that grow fast, or else you'll be waiting a long time. Look on the back of the packets of seeds for info. (FYI: Apples take a while.)
Amelia Earhart Quotes
~"The most effective way to do it, is to do it."
~"Never interrupt someone doing something you said couldn't be done."
~"No kind action ever stops with itself. One kind action leads to another. Good example is followed. A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves."
~"Never do things others can do and will do, if there are things others cannot do or will not do."
~"Anticipation, I suppose, sometimes exceeds realization."
~"Flying may not be all plain sailing, but the fun of it is worth the price."
~"...decide...whether or not the goal is worth the risks involved. If it is, stop worrying..."
Perfect Cauliflower
Even if you HATE cauliflower (like moi) you will love, love, love this! It is one of the only ways to get me to eat my vegetables (other than putting brown sugar on my carrots) and if that's not a miracle, I don't know what is.
"Even if you hate it; even if you detest it; even if you loathe and abhor cauliflower... You're going to love it after this...
You must, must, must try this recipe!

Thank you, Hayley, for your birthday wishes. I'm so glad we got to spend some time with you this week. Wish we could have stayed longer. I used an egg box to start my morning glory seeds. They were planted last Sunday. I looked when we got home today and saw a couple of the little plants looking pretty sturdy. Egg boxes work so well.
